Free Falling
As soon as you jump out of the plane, a rush completely falls over you. The instructor pulls the first parachute which slows your free falling down to 120 mph. Once you stop screaming, you need to be aware of how to breathe.
Since you are falling at 120 mph, you are not able to breathe through your mouth. Therefore, you need to close your mouth and concentrate on breathing through your nose. You proceed to free fall for about 30 seconds or to 5,000 feet. While you are free falling, your photographer (if available) will fly over to you and grab your hands. The two of you begin to spin in the sky. This is an amazing feeling while you are free falling.
Free Falling and Landing
As soon as the photographer lets go, the two of you fly apart. At about that time, the instructor pulls the second parachute. Once the parachute opens, there is complete silence. It is so peaceful and quiet while you are floating back down to land. Your instructor will guide you down or you can take control for a period of time. You can choose to spin in circles or just casually glide back and forth for approximately five minutes.
As you get closer to land, you move into your landing position which is your legs straight out in front of you with your toes pointed up. The landing is very soft. As soon as you land, there are people around you gathering up the parachute and helping you to get out of your gear. If you choose, you may kiss the ground because you know you made it!
